This year, Pride events across the world celebrate Stonewall 50, the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in New York.
Tickets are now on sale via the website www.prideglasgow.com - an early bird rate of £8 (one day tickets only on sale this year), until 11pm on Friday, 24 May, thereafter the price will increase to £10 per ticket. Those who were promised VIP tickets from last year, will receive an email shortly, and will have first refusal of the VIP packages for this year, free of charge.
Pride Glasgow has heavily invested time this year, to restructure, appoint a new board of trustees and a team of professionals to deliver, review governance, policies and finance.
Christopher Lang, chair of Pride Glasgow said: “It’s fair to say we’ve had a rough ride since last year’s event. However, we’ve listened, taken professional advice and we’re confident that we have a really excellent event for the LGBTQI+ community in Glasgow and further afield.
“The march will take place on the Saturday (17th) and the festival will take place on the concourse of the Riverside Museum over the weekend (17th and 18th).
“There is something for everyone as always and we’re using our creativity to ensure there are plenty of photo opportunities which will be fun, but we’re also planning the safety and flow of the event to ensure a smooth running of the weekend.”
Organisers said that there are still opportunities for sponsorship and partnerships, in particular, if there are any venues or promoters who want to organise a fringe event.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
