Now in its fifth year, the St Andrew’s Day Torchlight Parade, previously organised by West End Festival is now being helmed by Glasgow based production company Halo Arts, who have become known for their innovative and imaginative community events and outreach programme.
The event is part of Scotland’s Winter Festival programme managed by EventScotland, part of VisitScotland’s Events Directorate, and aims to encourage more people to celebrate Scotland’s national patron saint day.
In 2019, over 1000 people participated in the torchlight parade and many hundreds more lined the streets to cheer it on.
The St Andrew's Day Torchlight Parade is a unique and exciting community event set in the beautiful West End of Glasgow.
Starting with 90 minutes of entertainment at Glasgow Botanic Gardens including live music, fire performers, street theatre, kids hub and more- the parade, featuring a sea of lit torches, will make its way down Byres Road and will end at the South Front of University of Glasgow with more entertainment.
People can join in by buying a £9 ticket for general entry to the event at Botanic Gardens and walk with our parade. For only a few pounds extra you can buy and carry a torch to add to the spectacle.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
