Free training in film programming and events management for 16 to 25 year olds in Glasgow!

Freeze Frame is a free weekly training course in film programming and event management for 16 to 25 year olds!

Throughout the course the participants will learn how to program a film, select a venue, hire catering, create an interactive activity for their audience and market their event. The last week will contain 4 screening events on separate days where the participants will showcase their skills. The participants will be loaned a budget to create their events and they will pay back this amount from their ticket sales. Any earnings above the budget figure will be shared amongst group members.

This opportunity is open to anyone aged 16-25 who would benefit from the training.

The course is mentored by 4 young people with tremendous experience in organising event cinema. Two mentors and the course leader, Ashley Dick, are part of Pop-up Film Glasgow (formerly Glasgow Pop-up Programmers) who held events for The Glasgow Film Festival, The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival, Merchant City Festival, Refugee Week, Don’t Mention Dementia and the tour of Bill Morrison’s documentary ‘The Miner’s Hymns’.

At the end of the course the participants will be awarded Mozilla Learning Badges for their CVs.

The training will take place in weekly, evening and weekend, workshops starting on 14 September and finishing on 2 November.
