The National Theatre of Scotland is touring two of its critically acclaimed shows this Autumn, following on from an award-winning year at the Edinburgh Festivals. Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour, which premiered at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe, and Dragon, which enjoyed a sell-out five performance run at the Edinburgh International Festival, will be performed across Scotland in September and October.
Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour opened at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe on 19 August 2015, and enjoyed a hugely successful sell-out run at the Traverse Theatre, earning eleven five-star reviews and picking up four awards, including a Scotsman Fringe First, a Herald Angel, and A Stage Award for Acting Excellence. Based on The Sopranos by cult Scottish novelist Alan Warner, and adapted for the stage by award-winning writer Lee Hall, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour also marked Vicky Featherstone’s return to the National Theatre of Scotland. Vicky Featherstone was the inaugural Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Scotland and is now the Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre, London. In September the show tours to Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Kirkcaldy, and Musselborough, before a run at Newcastle’s Live Theatre in October.
