Southside Film presents four comedy classics

Southside Film is returning to Govanhill Baths to screen an eclectic mix of some much-loved comedy classics as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival!

Kicking us off on Friday night will be Ben Stiller’s zany fashion spoof Zoolander. With the hotly anticipated release of Zoolander 2 this coming month (12th February), we take a look back to where it all started. Saturday afternoon will see a double-feature screening of the Marx Brothers’ anarchic Duck Soup, followed by some fast talking reporters in Howard Hawks’ razor sharp screwball comedy His Girl Friday. Finally, we’ll close proceeding with Mel Brooks’ hysterical satire of the Old West, Blazing Saddles. Frequently considered one of the funniest films ever made, the Western has never been the same since.

This is the second year Southside Film has worked in partnership with the Govanhill Baths Community Trust to bring you some raucous cinematic entertainment. Last year saw the Baths packed out with legendary cult classic Withnail & I, and documentary American: The Bill Hicks Story.

Otherwise tickets are available on the door on the night, if not sold out in advance. The concession rate applies to children under 16 years old, full time students, over 60s, Job Seekers Allowance or Income Support or similar benefits recipients and people registered as disabled. are installed at the Baths, dress for the outdoors. Blankets will be available on the night.
