Clyde 1 LIVE 2016 is set to be the Glasgow music scene’s big value ticket this December after one final bonus act was added to the line-up for the highly-anticipated “night of the biggest bands” at the SSE Hydro.
Clyde 1 evening show host Callum Gallacher broke the news that James TW will perform an acoustic set on the night, becoming the sixth act confirmed, with The 1975, Bastille, Blossoms, Tom Odell and Kaiser Chiefs also appearing on stage in Glasgow next month.
James TW’s big break came when Shawn Mendes tweeted to his own 7million+ followers after watching the 19-year-old soloist’s covers on YouTube, the endorsement ultimately leading to him being signed by the same record label.
It’s been a real rise to fame for the young singer who has gone from posting covers on YouTube to being in the Top 10 on the Spotify Global Chart. In recent weeks, James TW has even been touring with the Canadian crooner Mendes, playing to huge arena audiences.
An exclusive interview with James TW featured on Callum Gallacher’s show last night where he talked about the year he’s had and his plans for new music, saying: “It’s all pretty crazy, what a lot of people don’t know is I’ve been performing, playing live and writing songs since I was 10 years old.”
During the interview he gave insight into the inspiration behind his brand new single When You Love Someone, which has already clocked up more than two million views on YouTube, and hinted a debut album is on the horizon.
James TW added: “I’m working on an album at the moment, I’m not sure when it will be released because you can only release it once and I want it to be the right time. There is new music to come though!”
Speaking about this latest addition to the line-up, Callum Gallacher said: “Clyde 1 LIVE is going to be a night to remember. Seriously, it’s going to feel like a festival with so many quality acts taking to the stage.
“There’s no better way to see so many top live bands and artists perform under one roof on one night in Glasgow.”
Clyde 1 LIVE, is in its sixth year with the 2016 event sponsored by The Hub EK the fourth in a row at the SSE Hydro. To buy tickets and for more information visit www.clyde1.com/live
