We are excited to announce that tickets are now on sale for Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoors Pursuits Show 2017. Now in it’s second year we have a number of exciting new features, across a variety of outdoor sports, offering a fun filled day out for all the family!
If cyclists, runners and outdoor fans loved last year’s debut Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoors Pursuits Show, they are in for a treat this year with more features, more exhibitors and more challenges to inspire them to make 2017 their most active year yet! After all outside is free, and with so many passionate, inspiring people and brands under one roof you can’t help but get excited about the great outdoors at our show!
Scottish Cycling, Running and Outdoors Pursuits Show will take place at the SECC in Glasgow on March 10 to 12, 2017, running from 10am to 5pm each day.
A truly unique Glasgow sporting event
Last year saw the show described as a must-visit event in Scotland with this year being no different! With over 100 industry leading brands including such major cycling names as Canyon, Cube, Merida, Alpine, Santa Cruz, Cervelo and BTWIN and running brands such as Newton, On, Altra, Ronhill, Hilly, Craft, Kalenji and CEP Sportswear! Visitors can browse some of the best names in the business and get the chance to find out the latest in sport technology, clothing and accessories.
We have a number of sport celebrities from the world of cycling, athletics and the great outdoors who will feature in our theatre. Sponsored by the UK’s best-selling cycling magazine, Cycling Weekly you will get the chance to hear from a range of industry leading professionals and athletes about your favourite sports from all disciplines. Our speakers will give key information on how to get into each sport.
The event promises something for every age, sporting interest and fitness level.
For young, aspiring athletes we have a range of fun filled activities to take part in with a dedicated area for under 16s! Including fun challenges and assault courses, an Under 16 only cycle area, climbing wall, Go Ape rope course, and Scottish Cycling sponsored Mountain Bike Trail! There are plenty of new things to try!
For adults we have a host of activities! Why not come and race on indoor cycling track sponsored by the Tour of Ayrshire and unleash the cyclist within! Get the chance to try out the latest road bikes from Bike Swanky on the track! Get a taste of the outdoors on our new e-Mountain Bike Course sponsored by Bosch, with purpose built trail for you to test your biking skills. If you’re after something different take part in our Segway course, or perhaps push yourself in our Triathlon and Dry Tri challenges and find out if you have what it takes! For the runners out there why not give our indoor running track a go and put your sprinting techniques to the test, where you will have the opportunity to use professional starting blocks! We also have our very own Marathon challenge where you could win a place in the New York Marathon! There’s our very own Velodrome sponsored by Street Velodrome, great for those who want to practice their track cycling! Hampden Sports Clinic will be offering Bio Metric testing, so you can ensure your body is looked after.
Visitors will be able to take up a variety of fun challenges, including our mini Velodrome time trial and sprint time trials, as well as witness a record being broken! We have ultra-marathon cyclist Katie Ford aiming to break the Guinness World Book of Records greatest simulated distance on a static cycle in 12 hours on Friday 11th March. So come along and witness history!
For those looking to make 2017 more active there will be the opportunity to book taster spinning classes with Boiler Room Fitness as well as a range of classes in our Active Zone with David Lloyd and North Lanarkshire Leisure at the show! And what’s more you can pre book classes on the website for free! There will be a number of different activities to choose from including exercises for cardio, strength and conditioning for the mind and body offered throughout the day, so you can choose an exercise schedule that works for you.
